Wardell Milan in BODY FREEDOM FOR EVERY(BODY)

Work by Wardell Milan is included in BODY FREEDOM FOR EVERY(BODY), a cross-country mobile exhibition organized by Project for Empty Space's Jasmine Wahi and Rebecca Pauline Jampol. The centerpiece of the campaign, a 27-foot box truck with a rotating gallery of works by more than 200 artists, will be on view in New York City from September 4-8 before embarking on a nationwide tour.

BODY FREEDOM FOR EVERY(BODY) is a celebration of intersecting issues pertaining to bodily autonomy such as reproductive justice, queer liberation, and trans joy. The campaign emerges as a response to a relentless wave of conservatism that continues to politicize queer liberation and restrict reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare. The overarching message of the project is broadening awareness of the right to safe, legal, and accessible health care that allows people to live in their power and choice.

BODY FREEDOM FOR EVERY(BODY) kicks off with a launch party in partnership with Times Square Arts and The Armory Show on Wednesday, September 4 at 12pm, followed by events at the NYU Center for Black Visual Culture on Friday, September 6 and the AIDS Memorial Park on Sunday, September 8.
