We are pleased to announce that Arturo Herrera's monumental wall paintings Track & Field and Mirror are now on view at Forma Miami residential tower.
These site-specific commissions reflect the resounding spirit of the large, abstract public art present throughout the streets of neighboring Wynwood and the creativity of Miami's Design District.
Track & Field is featured on the east façade of the Forma Miami tower and spans nearly a full city block. The vibrant, hand-painted wall work is composed of biomorphic and geometric shapes that suggest a multitude of narratives subject to the eye of the beholder. Within this fluidity of interpretation, a repetitive figuration stands out: the gestured image of a band procession, promenading southward towards the entrance of Forma Miami and heralding the rise of its tower above.
Herrera's wall-to-wall Mirror is prominently displayed in Forma's lobby space. Moderating the vibrancy and color-saturated quality of his exterior painting, Mirror features just two colors, while still evoking the rich redness of Miami's sunsets. Mirror positions Forma’s lobby, located at Miami’s premier intersection into Wynwood, as a celebratory point of entry into the tower as well as the exciting gallery of the neighborhood's art.
