Museu Oscar Niemeyer presents Afinidades III - Cochicho, the third edition of a project first organized by the Museum in 2021. For this edition, Brazilian artist Luiz Zerbini has selected works by five important names in Paraná art from MON's collection to be shown alongside his own. Afinidades III curator Marc Pottier explains, “In MON’s collection, Zerbini found landscape artists whose visions touched his own.” These artists are Guido Viaro, Miguel Bakun, Bruno Lechowski, Guilherme William Michaud, and Theodoro de Bona.
Zerbini’s body of work on view includes paintings, watercolors, monotypes—his “travel diaries,” where nature is always the main theme. For Zerbini, “cochicho” is a conversation between landscape artists who have spent many hours alone, painting, and contemplating the surrounding natural world. “Whispering is an opportunity to give voice to silence," he says.”
