Artist Marlene McCarty’s “Save the Date” tee is a reminder to mobilize tirelessly and to keep our sights on the 2018 Congressional election and the 2020 Presidential election.
The Save the Date(s) tees represents an evolution of Marlene McCarty’s work from the late 1980’s and early 1990s. That work reconstructed and reclaimed sexually charged language with a sense of humor.
Artist Statement: As our elected officials blatantly erode our Democracy we the people are taking action. We resist – proposition – raise money - deliberate - demonstrate – and even put our bodies in the street but our ultimate power lies in the voting booth. The voting booth is where we can decide the future. VOTE on 11.06.18 and 11.03.20
